C8, C12, C16, C20-100 Taps are designed for Half/Full duplex 802.3 Ethernet Networks. The no package loss and redundant power feature makes it the ideal solution for security networks.
The Tap is invisible and non-intrusive to the network. It has no IP address and mirrors all traffic including Layer 1 and Layer 2 errors to the monitor ports.
It is redundant powered to guarantee maximum monitoring uptime. If one power fails the secondary power will automatically replace its function without causing any interruption in the network traffic. The permanent link feature in the network guarantees permanent network connectivity also when power fails.
C8, C12, C16, C20-100 Tap passes network traffic and PoE (802.3af) without interference. No active components are used in the network link, it does not introduce a point of failure.
C8, C12, C16, C20-100 Tap is a multiple structure with the Tap ports on the front and the network ports on the backside of the unit. Network Ports A and B are connected in the network, Tap Ports A and B are connected to monitor device A respective B.
The Tap is 802.3 compliant and non-intrusive to the network. Network ports A and B are hardwired together and the Tap does no introduce a point of failure in the network.
It does not interfere in auto negotiation, speed and duplex settings.
Using the redundant power feature guarantees a maximum monitoring uptime off the monitor ports. Two LEDs show the presence of power. The Tap is fully functional using only one power.
No data is passed to the Tap ports at power failure.
The Tap ports are galvanical separated from the network ports and in such way protecting your monitoring equipment from PoE.
